Bhuvanendra College situated in Karkala, Karnataka (India) is an Arts, Science
and Commerce College founded in 1960. A special cancellation was provided on
01.02.1985 when the College celebrated its Silver Jubilee.
In the logotype of the College the
Sanskrit imprint reads "तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय" (tamaso mā jyotir gamaya) meaning --"Lead me from darkness to light". This is a
mantra from one of the principal Upaniṣads viz., the Bṛhadāraṇyaka Upaniṣad 1.3.28 which forms part of the Śukla-Yajurveda. रजतजयन्ती (rajata jayantī) is also a Sanskrit word which means Silver
Jubilee. Above the lotus, in the logo, there is the mono-syllabic symbol ॐ (aum) representing Brahman, the Supreme Reality, is from the Veda.
